The principals of Frew Consultants Group have had long careers in education with a combined total of eighty-one years service. After starting as mainstream teachers they both moved into careers in providing support for students with severe behaviours. Principal - John R Frew John started his career as a secondary teacher. After sixteen years in mainstream school he was asked to set up a specialist unit to deal with students with emotional disturbance. Two years later he was appointed the foundation principal of a secondary school for students with Conduct Disorder and Oppositional Disturbance. He served as principal for the next ten years. During his time at the school John researched and studied the causes and interventions for dealing with these children. While there he wrote three publications that supported other workers in the field. These included:
John has been back in mainstream secondary school as a principal for the past seventeen years where he has continued his work in dealing with students with severe behaviours. John has just released his latest book ‘The Impact of Modern Neuroscience on Contemporary Teaching’ which is a compellation of essays that investigate the causes of dysfunctional behaviours and effective interventions. Principal - Marcia J Vallance Marcia started as a Primary School teacher. After thirteen years she taught in a juvenile detention center. She soon rose to be the assistant principal of the school that supported the Centre. Seven years on she was appointed principal of another detention center. Marcia has written papers for professional groups, delivered keynote addresses to national conferences and provided numerous workshops for personnel working with these disenfranchised students.
